Sexting:The Consequences

What is sexting? Sexting is simply what it sounds like and that is the transmission of explicit materials for sexual gratification.

As you can probably guess this is pretty popular these days...but what are the consequences?

Yes, a lot of you will probably say its no big deal...after all we are consenting adults. Which is true to an extent. But what happens if you are an underage sexter?

So many of our youth these days are in fact sexting...without even realizing the possible ramifications.

For one if you are underage it is considered an illegal activity. Simply because you are not 18 and transmitting inappropriate pictures of yourself.

It can get even worse if you attend a high school in a small town.

Here's the scenario:

A young child (girl or boy) takes a naked photo of themselves and sends it out to one person. That person in turn sends it to hundreds of other kids. So by the time the picture is sent, the whole school has seen it. This picture can be used to harass this child!

Once this is done the picture can live forever. So even if this child has left the school their sibling/siblings will be forever embarrassed or teased about it for years to come.

So in closing, kids please do not participate in sexting...it can and will haunt you for many years to come.
